As a passionate photographer, I find immense joy in capturing the beauty of unique vehicles, and Linda's truck is no exception. This Chevy truck, a labor of love and a tribute to her late father, tells a compelling story of resilience and nostalgia. Every curve and detail reflects not only its rich history but also Linda's dedication to its restoration. Photographing this truck allows me to showcase its character and the emotional connection it represents, transforming each image into a powerful narrative that resonates with viewers.
Linda purchased the truck from Cahills Speed Shop in 2019, not long after her dad passed away. They had talked about building a Chevy truck while he was in palliative care to pass the time. The truck arrived in Australia from Arizona the week he passed, and she bought it a month or two later. She stripped the entire truck, thinking she could handle much of the work herself and outsource tasks as needed. However, she quickly realized it was beyond her skill level. She spent the next three years working every public holiday and overtime she could to save enough money to send it to someone for restoration. She chose a company but ended up taking possession of the truck after almost three years, as they weren’t on the same page. She’ll leave it at that. She then sent it back to Cahills to finish the work and make it safe for her to drive. It has certainly been a work in progress, and she’s still making a few changes.
